The first day of study abroad has finally arrived! It came sneaking up on me even though I knew it was right around the corner. I woke up super early around 3 in the morning to get ready to head to the airport. My first flight was from Albuquerque to Dallas, and it left at 6 am. I was running around the house making sure I had everything I needed. My family and I all got ready and we arrived at the airport at 4:30 to get me checked in. Afterwards, we made our way up to area right before security. We met up with Kitty and Kayla's families for the last minute well wishes and good bye pictures. After Kitty, Kayla, and I walked through security, we went to sit at our gate. It was a quick and uneventful flight to Dallas becasue we were all trying to get some more sleep. We had an hour and a half layover, and then we jumped on another plane to take us to New York City. We planned to spend one night in New York, so that Kayla was able to attend an event later that evening. Once we arrived in New York, we got a taxi to take us to our hotel in Queens. While Kayla went to her event, Kitty and I went to Yankees game. We jumped on the subway near the hotel and rode it until we were right next to the stadium. We saw a game between the Yankees and the White Sox. However, we left after the 4th inning because the weather was really hot and humid. It feels like entering a bathroom after someone has taken a long shower. We went back to the hotel to rest for the next day in New York. |
